The Witcher IV's narrative director: CD Projekt Red had "creative chaos" from The Witcher 3 development

As you know, masterpieces are rarely created harmoniously: for example, a representative of CD Projekt once admitted that the shaping of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was a bit chaotic. Although times have changed and the failed launch of Cyberpunk 2077 taught the company to handle things more responsibly, as you know, the hunchback will repair the grave.

Philipp Weber, the narrative director of The Witcher IV, admitted that the development of the game is in full swing - he once again felt the energy that permeated the office during the production of The Witcher 3 (in those years, he had just joined the team). Weber noted that his team shaped the RPG without much thought, that is, "as it felt", and each employee could contribute to the game completely as he wanted, without looking back at the position.

Of course, the company knows what it is doing. Therefore, the author believes that the team wants to reproduce the conditions and practices that turned Wild Hunt into one of the most successful games of all time. At the same time, the author clearly understands that they can't just repeat old tricks: they need to move on and try unusual approaches.

Now CD Projekt is not only working on The Witcher IV, but also on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. Interestingly, the studio recently reviewed the mistakes made during the creation of the 2020 Cyberpunk shooter, chief among which were overconfidence and "random" development.
